What is the Race to Summer?

Overview

Established in 2023, the RTS (Race to Summer) is a season-long points based competition, culminating in the RTS state final in December. Players vie to become the RTS champion, which distinguishes the one player who not only performs well during the RTS club season, but also excels through the pressure of the RTS club playoffs and state final.

Race to Summer club season

The 2024 RTS club season comprises of 10-14 official RTS events at your individual club. The dates are agreed in consultation with your individual club match / board committee.

Each RTS event is built into your existing club competitions and regular golf. At each RTS event, players earn RTS points based on their finish, with an emphasis placed on wins and high finishes. Points are awarded from 1st to 20th place (See FAQ's for further details).

The Race to Summer - playoffs and club final

At the conclusion of each clubs RTS season, the top 24 players of each club will be eligible to play in the RTS club playoffs, a series of two events at each club over agreed months with your club.

The RTS club playoffs feature a progressive cut.

  • The first cut is the top 24 players heading into a Stableford event where you'll receive points on your season finish.
  • The second cut is the Top 12 players from the first cut 24 making it to the RTS club final, a Stableford event again, where you have the chance to win your club RTS.

In the event an eligible player is unable or chooses not to play, the next best finisher will be added.

The Race to Summer - state final (in the works)

The top 3 players from each RTS club final will join the RTS state final and compete in an 18 hole Stableford competition, for the ultimate club golfing prize and be crowned the Champion Club Golfer of the Year.

As well as an individual prize, the top 3 players will represent their club in a team competition. All 3 players Stableford scores count, with the highest score winning.

In the event an eligible player is unable or chooses not to play, the next best finisher will be added.
